Have you seen this Christchurch Rebuilder?
He is a 47 year old builder who has been self-employed for 23 years, and has worked with EQC, EQR, and insurance companies. He has seen a lot of the system failures and would relish the opportunity to make the system fairer, quicker, and more customer focussed, because he loves helping people achieve their goals.
His name is Leighton Baker and he is standing as a Conservative Candidate in the Christchurch East By-Election.
Why on earth should you vote for Leighton?
Great question, and we hope over the next few weeks to give you some compelling reasons why Leighton is the best person to take Christchurch East into rebuild, and why you should vote Conservative.
HE WAS HERE! After the September Earthquakes, Leighton and his team were in the East, doing emergency repairs, digging long drops, and securing people’s houses. His wife co-ordinated a laundry team with ladies from Canterbury, washing and drying clothes to be delivered back to those without power and water. His son and daughter were involved with the Rangiora Express, cooking and delivering meals to the East.
